About the Gazette
The Belated Gazette reports real events from history as if they just happened this morning. Each daily issue picks something that really occurred on today's date and covers it as breaking news, with a satirical spin.
The Belated Gazette is a work of satire and parody. Headlines, quotes attributed to fictional staff, op-eds, classifieds, weather and advertisements are invented for comedic purposes. The underlying historical events are real, and each issue's "What really happened" box summarizes the actual history; we check it against sources, but please consult primary sources before citing anything. Fictional characters (Cornelius R. Inkwell, Thaddeus P. Bullwhistle III and friends) are not real people. Advertisements shown are placeholders and parodies, not endorsements.
