Reporters Who Left Early Describe 'Very Large Boat'
Several reporters who left Long Beach Harbor after the H-4 Hercules finished its first two taxi runs today have filed detailed, accurate accounts of a very large boat going up and down the channel. The Hercules took off on the third run, which they missed.
'It was a boat when I left,' said one, holding a story with the headline BIG BOAT FLOATS. Editors say the copy is otherwise excellent. Newsrooms across the country have adopted a new rule: nobody leaves until the airplane is back in the hangar, or at least until Howard Hughes has finished his coffee.
